Blog: Reflect on how you might use Google Forms 1)in your practice and 2) for your Touro action research/capstone project. What might be the best uses for your particular situation?
I am not new to using Google Forms but I am new to creating them on my own. Thankfully, I have a strong third grade partner and she creates our forms for both of us. This week's activities and readings taught me to create my own forms. It was actually a fulfilling feeling to be able to know that I can assist my colleague and divide up the workload more equally. I will use Google Forms in my classroom to check in with students for SEL. I currently use Google Forms for assessments and data collection. In addition, I can see Google Forms being used for quick reading quizzes. There are many different ways to use this data collection platform. As for my Touro action research project, I can see myself using it as a survey. I will need to gather information from parents, administration, colleagues, and students, so I will need to be familiar with creating surveys using Google Forms. This is a great tool, and I can see the several ways in which I will apply it in my everyday work life.

Kimberlee, It is great to see how you will be able to help your third grade partner with creating Google Forms! Google Forms has been a wonderful resource for me to use. I'm glad that more and more teachers are able to use them effectively in their classrooms as well! I agree that using Google Forms for surveys will be a primary way to gather information for our Touro action research project. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Hi Kimberlee, I found myself in the same boat. I had used google forms for various things but someone else always created them from the beginning. It was good to learn a little more and practice with them myself. I really like your idea of using a form for SEL check in. That's a nice way for students to share with you privately. It's also helpful for the kids to have experience filling out surveys to prepare them for some of the big ones they have coming up in 5th grade and beyond. I appreciate your ideas.
